DAY 7 - MORNING

Today is a light day - only one IV, which is already done; and supplements, which she hasn't been taking because of the nausea.

We are waiting for the doctor to come in so we can talk about what's going on... or not going on.  Why is she still nauseated?  Is she supposed to feel better?  And if so, when?  Why are they giving her an NSAID (alleve, celebrex, etc.) when we told them that celebrex messed up her kidneys when she was in the hospital a few weeks ago and they told her not to take NSAIDs?  Why are they giving her medication for stomach cramps when she's nauseated, not cramping?

In some ways it feels a bit like western medicine - I am the doctor; just take what I send in for you; you don't need to know what it is or what it's for.  Luckily we are pushy and write down everything and look it up... although I still can't find the one they say is for stomach protection:  renecin or roninsen or whatever.  I'd be more inclined to just take whatever, if any of it seemed to be working.

Valerie is resting now, trying to wait for the doctor before requesting any more nausea or pain medication.

more later........
